The challenge
In a period of significant industry change and increasing competition, Sky New Zealand was focused on strengthening its culture and leadership capability across the organisation. Sky Chief Executive Sophie Moloney moved quickly to prioritise leadership development and reshape the culture, partnering with Leadership Boost to support this.
The programme
Sky implemented a multi-layer Leadership Boost Programme for around 100 leaders across the business — from executive leaders through to frontline crew. The programme included eight monthly in-person leadership sessions, a comprehensive Leadership Boost Toolkit, and a new rhythm of leadership conversations embedded into day-to-day ways of working across the business.
The results
The impact was both measurable and sustained:
Year 1: Staff engagement increased by +14% (Culture Amp)
Year 2: A further +1% uplift
Year 3: A further +7% uplift
This represents three consecutive years of improved engagement through a period of substantial organisational change. Leadership Boost continues to support Sky today, with new cohorts and ongoing Quarterly Boost sessions.
